6 flights under India’s evacuation mission ‘Operation Ganga’ have left for India as of now, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Wednesday.

India sent off the departure mission under which the Indians from Hungary, Romania, Poland and Slovakia are being brought back home after they left Ukraine through its property line intersections.

Jaishankar said the flights that left for India as of now incorporated the first from Poland.

Over the most recent couple of days, Indian clearing flights were working from Romanian capital Bucharest and Hungarian capital Budapest.

“#OperationGanga advancements. Six flights have now left for India as of now. Incorporates the main departures from Poland. Conveyed back 1,377 more Indian nationals from Ukraine,” Jaishankar tweeted on Wednesday morning.

Following the conclusion of Ukrainian airspace, India is working with the clearing of abandoned Indians from Ukraine through its territory line intersections.

The principal clearing flight conveying 219 Indians from Bucharest arrived in Mumbai on Saturday evening.

At a media preparation on Tuesday night, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said 26 flights had been booked to bring out Indian residents throughout the following three days.

He said separated from Bucharest and Budapest, air terminals in Poland and the Slovak Republic would likewise be utilized to work the flights.

“I had referenced that we had an expected 20,000 Indian understudies in Ukraine at the time that we gave our first warning,” he said.

“This is the overall number of individuals who are Indian nationals in Ukraine and from that number, roughly 12,000 have since left Ukraine, which is 60% of the complete number of our residents in Ukraine,” Shringla said.
