Taking note of his custodial cross examination was expected to uncover the supposed bigger connivance, a Delhi court on Tuesday sent Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain to Enforcement Directorate’s guardianship till June 9 in a tax evasion case.

Extraordinary appointed authority Geetanjli Goel gave over to the ED the guardianship of Jain, who was captured on Monday under specific arrangements of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, addressing the ED, looked for Jain’s 14-day care for cross examination.

Charging there were layers of cash moves, Mehta said the ED needed to find out in the event that the blamed was laundering another person’s cash and assuming there were other likely recipients.

Blaming Jain for being hesitant in his answers, the ED said his care was expected to find out where at last the cash came from.

“This is certainly not a one-time offense. This is of a common sort which might in any case be going on. He (Jain) might have the option to disclose subtleties during custodial cross examination,” Mehta said.

The organization had before temporarily appended resources worth Rs 4.81 crore of Jain’s family and organizations “valuably claimed and controlled” by him as a component of its test against him. For Jain, senior Advocate N Hariharan went against the ED application.
