Uttar Pradesh Police have booked AIMIM boss Asaduddin Owaisi for supposedly vitiating public amicability, disregarding Covid standards and making “disgusting” comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, police said on Friday.
The FIR against the All India Majlis-e-Itthehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) boss was enlisted on Thursday night at Barabanki city police headquarters after his party’s convention.
IPC areas 153A (advancing hostility on ground of religion, race and so forth), 188 (ignoring request of a local official), 269 (careless demonstration liable to spread illness perilous to life), 270 (dangerous demonstration liable to spread contamination of infection) and the Epidemic Act had been slapped against him, Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, Yamuna Prasad, said.
He said the Hyderabad MP abused Covid rules – on cover and social separating – by masterminding gigantic groups at the party rally at Katra Chandana on Thursday.
“In his discourse, the AIMIM boss offered expressions for vitiating shared amicability and said the 100-year-old Ram Sanehi Ghat mosque was bulldozed by the organization and its garbage was additionally taken out. This is in opposition to the reality,” the SP said.

Owaisi was on a three-roadtrip to Uttar Pradesh, where his party intends to challenge 100 seats in the impending Assembly surveys.
